			New Life Fellowship is so honored to be hosting what promises to be a wonderful singles' conference. Jeffrey Harpole is the pastor of New Life and is joined by his wife Tami and son Roman. Why we call it "Higher Ground" How did we get that name?

     The name of our city (Terre Haute) is French for "high ground (Terre = "ground" & Haute = "high"). The French put adjectives after their nouns ... how eccentric! 80)

     Another reason we called the conference "Higher Ground" is because of all the things that higher ground has represented to people since the dawn of time.
     Higher ground has always been understood as a place where one could go to gain a better view of their surroundings. There is great perspective when standing on the summit of the highest peak. I have been to the mountains of West Virginia many times, and I must say, the view from the summit is simply breath-taking!
     Higher ground has always been sought out by those who were engaged in combat in order to gain an advantage over their enemies. Those who were serious about warfare never underestimated the importance of securing the highest places on the battlefield. Those who were victorious in battle were those who made higher ground an important part of their strategy.
     Not only does higher ground provide mankind with many advantages, but higher ground also brings great challenges. Still today mankind is intrigued with the idea of climbing the highest peaks our great planet has to offer - Pike's Peak, K2, etc ... Many people have given their lives to the pursuit and challenges of reaching the highest summit no matter what the cost.

     In light of all of these things, we have named our conference "Higher Ground."

    - We want our conference to be place where you can gain a greater spiritual perspective and vision for your life.
    - "Higher Ground" will be a place where you can gain an advantage over the enemy of your soul. If you seek to be truly effective in spiritual warfare, be sure to make it to "Higher Ground."
    -If you are one of those people looking for a greater challenge from God and a deeper level of commitment to Him no matter what the cost, then "Higher Ground" is the place for you.

Registration: Your registration is essential!!!

     I would guess that all of you have at one time or another attended a conference where you were asked to register and pay a fee for doing so.
     They use the information they receive from registration to prepare accordingly - they know how many people to prepare for, what size building to rent, etc...
       We are not asking you to pay any fees (hallelujah!!!), but we are asking you to register. We still need the vital information that the registration process affords us. We want to be very well prepared for all of you and we want to host the absolute best singles' conference we possibly can.
